Dear Windows 8,
I'm sorry we ever met. You add an element of frustration and anxiety to my life that is paramount to no other and furthermore, you make me feel old. I was so excited to unwrap my shiny new laptop which I found online for a steal of a deal (thank you Best Buy). I was relieved to finally have a letter "a" that would work the first time, every single time I pressed it, but you have changed the game. After two months, I still don't know how to "wake" my computer. Sometimes pressing the power button and then moving the mouse turns it on and other times, it does not. Furthermore, I never know what version of my Internet Explorer I'm viewing, it's like you have two totally different identities. Sometimes the address bar is at the top, other times I have to put the mouse in the corner and find it at the bottom and this seems change every time I move off the screen. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat yet for some reason I still can't print from it. It seems as if I am no longer familiar with any program anymore. Is it me and not you?
Frustratingly Yours,
Rachel
On an adorable note, here are my guys....

And Then There Were 3
I know I've been very laissez-faire about blogging so I've decided that I once again am going to make a concerted effort to get back on the blogging-bandwagon...I know...here we go again.
In sad news, Basil, of Basil-the-Cat fame has passed away. It has been nearly two months now and I finally feel ready to write about it. I will no longer be able to see his sweet face or peer into his gorgeous green eyes. I won't be able to feel his loving warmth or incessant purring. I'm happy that he's no longer suffering and I will always remember this crazy ride called "life" that we took together for way too short of a time. Here are the last two photos of Basil ever taken:
Soon after Basil's passing, I added a piece of jewelry to my shop that reminds of him.
The outside of this vintage piece reminds me of the three cats we still have in our home: Kleist, Elie and Jayden and the inside reminds me of Basil, whom we will always have in our hearts.

MTV's Awkward Butterfly Necklace
At the request of a friend, I created a butterfly necklace similar to the one Jenna wear's on MTV's Awkward. I think it came out great. It is a brass butterfly charm connected to a gold-filled chain with a gold-filled spring ring closure.
This necklace can be purchased here
